A recent storm proved to be busy for Millstone Twp Firefighters. In a period of 50 hours beginning Tuesday evening the department answered 27 calls for service. Calls ranged from downed power lines, EMS assists, motor vehicle accidents, fire alarms and a chimney fire. Due to the predicted impact this storm would have on the community and surrounding area 5 volunteer firefighters and 5 career firefighters staffed the station overnight on both Tuesday February 9th and Wednesday February 10th. Additional volunteer firefighters assisted with covering the station and responding to calls throughout the storm. Firefighters assisted the Millstone Twp First Aid Squad with 4 medical calls by responding with the department’s utility pick-up that is equipped with a snow plow to make sure the driveways were accessible for an ambulance. Firefighters also assisted the First Aid Squad with removing patients from their homes due to the snow. The department also assisted other communities during the storm including a total of 5 mutual aid responses to the Borough of Roosevelt for downed power lines. Additionally firefighters responded to Upper Freehold mutual aid for chimney fire.   Included is a list of the calls firefighter’s answers:
