A jack knifed tractor trailer hit a guard rail and slid down an embankment where it came to rest and was fully involved.  Multiple fire companies were dispatched to the NJ Turnpike not knowing at first the type of truck over turned.  At 01:58 Command activated the Monmouth County Tanker Task Force consisting of pre-planned Tanker and Engine apparatus from the county including Millstone Townhip.  Crews remained on scene for several hours.  The accident occured between exits 8 and 8A.
