The Millstone Township Fire Department was established in 1938. The department's first firehouse was located behind the Clarksburg Inn and housed a REO Pumper. In 1941 a Diamond T Pumper was added and the firehouse moved next door to what is now utilized as the Township's Community Center. In 1976 the current firehouse was built and the department moved again. In its early years, the fire department members were alerted by siren only, later a phone bell was added, followed by plectrons and finally the pager system which is currently in use.
